The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP) and the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists (ACTRA) represent a diverse community of performers, including actors, stunt professionals, and voice artists. With a rich history of advocating for the rights and interests of performers, UBCP/ACTRA is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive entertainment industry in British Columbia and beyond. As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its brand presence and better reflect its values and mission, KIMBO Design was tasked with designing the branding materials that effectively represent the essence of UBCP/ACTRA and resonate with its diverse membership base and stakeholders. The new branding should reflect the organization’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and advocacy while also aligning with contemporary design trends and industry standards.

The Challenge:

One of the challenges KIMBO faced during this project was creating branding materials that authentically represented UBCP/ACTRA’s diverse membership, which includes performers, industry partners, and advocates with varied needs and expectations. To solve this, KIMBO engaged in extensive collaboration with UBCP/ACTRA’s leadership and key stakeholders, gathering feedback to ensure the final design reflected the organization’s core values of community, advocacy, and professionalism while appealing to all its members. Through these strategic solutions, KIMBO delivered a cohesive, versatile, and inclusive brand identity that effectively captured UBCP/ACTRA’s essence while ensuring it could be applied consistently across all touch points.

Results

The redesigned logo and branding materials created by KIMBO successfully strengthened UBCP/ACTRA’s visual identity, authentically reflecting the organization’s core values and aspirations. It balanced the organization’s rich history with a modern approach, resonated emotionally and professionally, ensuring UBCP/ACTRA stood out across both digital and print platforms. KIMBO also developed a comprehensive suite of branding materials—including letterheads, business cards, social media assets, and email signatures—providing a cohesive and consistent visual identity across all communication touchpoints. With detailed brand guidelines in place, UBCP/ACTRA gained the tools to maintain this unified identity, enhancing their visibility and engagement in the entertainment industry while supporting their continued growth and success.
