Being an entrepreneur, it’s not a bed of roses. It’s hard. There’s ups and downs and you’re always trying to rise and achieve something greater. And that’s what kind of what fuels me and that’s what fuels me today.
When I moved to B.C., I didn’t actually have a plan, just a lifestyle and the business life as well, just really attracted me and that’s why I stayed. Of course it was scary, it takes about three years when you move to a place to actually be comfortable in and stay in there and seeing if you’re actually going to stay there.
The advice for female entrepreneurs to keep in mind and I think any entrepreneur in general is dig deep within yourself and figure out if this is what you want. Being an entrepreneur, you are constantly failing. But I don’t like to call it failure, I like to call it lessons. You’re constantly being challenged and then there’s lessons to learn from those challenges and I just got to know myself and my personality and who I was. And I wanted to make sure that this was going to be the right step for me and the right journey that I was going to take.
So I would, that is the first thing to do, is really look within yourself and make sure that this is right for you and your personality. You really got to focus. Focus is key. If you’re doing three things, it’s like I have half a job. I half work part-time. I half do a business, it’s not going to work. You really got to focus. Think about the positives and turn those negatives around into a positive.
